Marlies Vonk's  fascination  with movement and  
'the theatrical’  is clearly shown in her paintings.  
Just like the people she meets during one of the  
many study trips, her artwork sometimes is 
introvert like the Japanese Geisha, 
spirited like a South American tango dancer, 
restrained as a ballet ballerina or magical as a 
Commedia Dell’ Arte figure.
