Style
and Technique.
Marlies Vonk’s art work is clearly figurative with
exuberant expression. Most of the times restrained
with a keen eye for facial and bodily expression.
She is specialized in the human
figure.
What stands out is her use of a
‘dry oil technique’.
She applies the oil-paint almost transparent like a
watercolor,
layer over layer on the canvas.
She puts a lot of time in sketching and design,
but when it really comes to painting,
time never has been an issue.
Marlies Vonk, visual artist and European Master in Arts and Culture,
combines unique traditional
skills with personal commitment.
