Sketching on Location at
the Dutch Dance Theatre
|
preliminary
sketches
At the beginning of 1992 Marlies Vonk became fascinated by ballet and
modern dance. During many months she studied and sketched moving figures
of the classical trained dancers at some of the world’s top ballet
companies such as the famous Martha Graham Ballet Company in New York
and the renowned
Dutch National Ballet in Amsterdam.
With special permission of Artistic Director Jiri Kylián she also
attended many rehearsals and performances of the celebrated Dutch Dance
Theatre Group.
Unique sources of inspiration
that resulted in an impressive collection of expressive paintings,
watercolors and stone prints (handmade by artist) and … more than ten
ballet-art-exhibitions in Europe and U.S.A.
